"If we are facing in the right direction, all we have to do is to keep on walking"
--Ancient Buddhist expression
That's a BIG if! How can one know if they are facing in the right direction? Like diving in a cave or diving blind, which way is up? How do you know that you are not just swimming/walking to your premature death?
Faith. Lack of fear. Don't fear death. Perhaps death is the right direction in some situations. I think that is what appeals to me about Buddhism. The emotionally detached logic. Fear is a strong emotion and sometimes blocks out everything else, even one's ability to walk.
I have to assume that I am facing the right direction always. Even when I don't feel like making that assumption (not feeling positive or thinking that I am facing the wrong direction, is the right direction no matter what it is?)... the sun will come out tomorrow. That's faith. No second guessing.
So, I just keep on walking -- whether writing, working, studying, believing, loving.
Re-invention is... continuously walking. I think I am going to spend my writing time this week, visualizing this, instead of fixing all these "goalposts". Visualize walking, visualize always have been/being/always will be in the right direction. Face the positive side. Turn my face towards the sun, the light, away from the dark.
